This is an exciting opportunity to join the e5 team in our new opening at the V&A East Storehouse as barista/FOH team member. We are hiring both part time and full time roles. The deadline to apply is 14th May.

The FOH team at e5 Storehouse is responsible for welcoming any customers and museum visitors into our shop and assisting them with anything they may need while they spend time at e5. Front of House work on a rota basis and are expected to do some weekend work. Weekly hours can be flexible and agreed with the general manager.

Key Responsibilities

-Coffee preparation

-Grind, brew and serve coffee and other hot drinks according to recipes and keeping in mind customers preferences.

-Engage with customers around our coffee varieties.

-Notify managers about stock levels/inventory of beans / retail and materials

-Notify managers about any technical issues with the coffee equipment.

-Maintain the coffee equipment according to training.

-Follow coffee shift checklists

Operations Support

-Preparing and Running food and drinks

-Maintaining inventory levels by alerting managements for restocking

-Setting up the cafe ready for opening: stocked shelves, pastry display, menu signage, seating plan

-Closing down the cafe at the end of day: clean down, store away products accordingly, sweep floors and mop, waste removal

-Keeping the cafe clean and complying with food hygiene requirements

-Customer Care & Sales

-Greeting and assisting customers in a friendly, approachable way.

-Taking orders and processing payments

-Processing orders in a professional way (packaging, plating, serving)

-Maintaining a positive and professional attitude

-Handling customer inquiries and complaints according to our guidelines

-Communication

Skills & Qualifications

-Up to date Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (useful but not necessary as we will provide training)

-Excellent communication

-Being flexible and adaptable to changing demands of the business

-Strong work ethic: Punctual, reliable & committed to quality

-Working independently and as part of a team.

-Attention to detail in maintaining a clean and organised workspace

-Customer service skills

-Providing quality in a fast paced environment
